The Alden B. Dow Center for Creativity & Enterprise is constantly networking to find internships with for-profit startup companies, as well as not-for-profit/blended social entrepreneurship ventures. We feel strongly that entrepreneurially-minded students can benefit from "walking along side" an entrepreneur who is launching or growing a new venture to become more sustainable.

One collaborator we work with near the Michigan campus is the Mid-Michigan Innovation Center. A community business incubator, MMIC has many opportunities for internships with new ventures.

The MidMichigan Innovation Center is a private, non-profit organization created to provide entrepreneurs and start-up companies a supportive and collaborative environment. MMIC connects you with critical resources, valuable services, flexible facilities, and entrepreneurial training and education that will help you develop your business venture. As an MMIC partner, you will receive the support needed to ensure your company’s success.

Additionally, we have unique non-profit internships, sponsored by the Dow Chemical Co. Foundation. Internships with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat with Humanity and many other agencies who serve those with special needs are orchestrated through Career Services at Northwood University but are especially targeted to our NU business students who have social entrepreneurship interests.
